Recorded with producer Christopher Rowe at Nashville’s Blackbird and Prime Recording Studios plus her own home studio, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) faithfully reproduces the original 2008 album’s twenty tracks while adding six previously unreleased “From the Vault” songs co-produced with Jack Antonoff and Aaron Dessner. The re-recording was Swift’s direct response to the 2019 sale of her original masters, and it became the first re-recorded album in history to debut at number one on the Billboard 200. Lead single “Love Story (Taylor’s Version)” and vault track “Mr. Perfectly Fine” both charted, and the album topped charts in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand. Its success established the commercial viability of Swift’s re-recording strategy and paved the way for subsequent “Taylor’s Version” releases.
