Compiled posthumously from home recordings, radio sessions, and stray studio takes, Sublime Acoustic strips away Sublime’s ska-punk arrangements to spotlight Bradley Nowell’s voice and guitar alone. The set mixes original songs like ‘Saw Red’ and ‘Garden Grove’ with loose covers and interludes, including a live take on ‘KRS-One’ and a medley of Marley tunes. Released in 1998, two years after Nowell’s death, it offered fans an intimate counterpoint to Sublime’s full-band catalog and reached #107 on the Billboard 200. The original CD packaging famously mimicked a blank recordable disc, with the now-familiar cover artwork debuting only on the 2016 vinyl pressing. This LP reissue restores the acoustic sessions to their original 15-track sequence.
