Karen Dalton | In My Own Time | Vinyl

In My Own Time is the second and final studio album from folk-blues singer Karen Dalton, originally released in 1971 on Just Sunshine Records. Produced and arranged by Harvey Brooks (Bob Dylan, The Doors) and recorded at Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, the album showcases Dalton’s aching, Billie Holiday-inflected voice on a mix of originals and covers, including her definitive reading of the traditional “Katie Cruel.” Commercially overlooked on release, the record was rediscovered decades later and reissued by Light in the Attic in 2006, becoming a touchstone for a new generation of folk and Americana artists. This 2LP 50th Anniversary Deluxe Edition pairs the remastered original album with alternate studio takes and rare 1971 live recordings from the Beat Club in Germany and the Montreux Golden Rose Pop Festival.
