Blues Deluxe Vol. 2 is Joe Bonamassa’s 2023 sequel to his 2003 solo debut Blues Deluxe, produced with longtime collaborator Josh Smith. The album pairs two new Bonamassa originals with covers drawn from the catalogs of Bobby Bland, Albert King, and Fleetwood Mac’s early blues era, aiming for a loose, in-the-room feel two decades removed from his first record. As Bonamassa’s sixteenth solo studio album, it functions as both a victory lap and a return to the straight-ahead blues that launched his career.
