Co-produced by Scott Litt and the band, Morning View was written and recorded in the spring of 2001 at a rented house on Malibu’s Morning View Drive, a live-in creative process guitarist Mike Einziger later said ‘defied every criticism’ from the band’s label. The album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 with over 266,000 copies sold in its first week and went on to be certified double platinum in the US, propelled by the singles ‘Wish You Were Here,’ ‘Nice to Know You,’ and ‘Are You In?’ Morning View marked a turn toward a more melodic, atmospheric sound for the nu-metal-adjacent band, closing with the sprawling, largely instrumental ‘Aqueous Transmission.’ This 2LP 180g reissue spreads the album’s thirteen tracks across four sides.
