Produced by Ted Templeman and released in March 1979, Van Halen II followed the band’s explosive debut with a slightly more polished, hook-driven set of hard rock songs. Lead single “Dance the Night Away” became the band’s first Top 20 hit, while “Beautiful Girls” and “Somebody Get Me a Doctor” also received heavy radio play. The album reached No. 6 on the Billboard 200 and has since been certified five-times platinum in the US. This 180-gram remastered edition restores the original analog warmth of the 1979 recording for vinyl listeners.
