Assembled from vault material and dub-style remixes, Second Hand Smoke pairs newly mixed versions of songs like ‘Doin’ Time’ and ‘Get Out!’ with rowdier, unpolished cuts including ‘Badfish,’ ‘Saw Red,’ and a live take on ‘Trenchtown Rock.’ Released on Gasoline Alley/MCA in 1997 following Nowell’s fatal overdose the year before, the record functioned as both a stopgap release and a fan-facing look into Sublime’s studio outtakes. It went on to be certified platinum by the RIAA, reflecting the surge of posthumous popularity that followed the band’s self-titled 1996 album. This double-LP gatefold vinyl reissue restores the compilation to its original expanded 2LP program for collectors.
