Texas Flood is Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble's 1983 debut album, recorded in just two days and the record that revitalized mainstream interest in blues guitar during an era dominated by synth-pop and new wave. “Pride and Joy” and the title track showcase Vaughan's fiery, technically dazzling playing, drawing on Jimi Hendrix and Albert King in equal measure while carving out his own unmistakable voice. It's routinely ranked among the greatest blues-rock albums ever recorded, launching a career tragically cut short by his death seven years later.
