The album opens with the controversial “Angel of Death,” referencing Nazi war criminal Josef Mengele, and closes with the iconic “Raining Blood,” still a staple of Slayer’s live sets decades later. Though it only reached No. 94 on the Billboard 200 upon release, Reign in Blood was later certified gold and is routinely ranked among the greatest metal albums ever made by outlets like Rolling Stone and Decibel. This pressing reissues the original ten-song, 29-minute set on vinyl through Universal Music Enterprises.
