Rolling Stones | Let It Bleed | Vinyl

Produced by Jimmy Miller and released in November 1969, Let It Bleed captures the Rolling Stones during a turbulent period, recorded as founding guitarist Brian Jones exited the band and new guitarist Mick Taylor joined mid-sessions; Jones appears on only two tracks before his death that July. The album opens with the ominous “Gimme Shelter,” featuring Merry Clayton’s searing guest vocal, and closes with the gospel-tinged “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” complete with a full choir and horns. Guest musicians including Ry Cooder, Al Kooper, and Nicky Hopkins helped broaden the band’s sound into blues, country, and gospel textures. Widely regarded as one of the greatest rock albums ever made, it has appeared near the top of numerous all-time best-album lists. This 50th anniversary edition brings the 1969 classic back to vinyl for ABKCO Records.
