Produced by Tony Bongiovi and Tommy Ramone (credited as T. Erdelyi) and released in January 1977, Leave Home arrived less than a year after the Ramones’ self-titled debut and pushed their stripped-down, high-speed sound even further. The track “Carbona Not Glue” was pulled from later pressings over a trademark dispute with the solvent brand Carbona, though it has since been restored on remastered reissues like this one. “Swallow My Pride” became the album’s only charting single, helping the record become the band’s first UK chart entry. Though a modest commercial performer on release, Leave Home is now regarded as a cornerstone of the emerging punk movement, and this remastered edition sharpens the original Sire Records mix for vinyl.
