I Put a Spell on You is Nina Simone's 1965 album, a genre-spanning showcase of her jazz, soul, and classically trained piano influences that reflected her uniquely wide-ranging musical background. “Feeling Good,” originally written for a British musical, became one of her most enduring and widely covered songs, its defiant, triumphant delivery a perfect match for her powerful voice. The album stands as an essential entry point into a catalog that spanned civil-rights protest songs, jazz standards, and deeply personal balladry alike.
