Written and produced by Kygo (Kyrre Gørvell-Dahll), the record was built around his breakout singles “Firestone,” “Stole the Show,” and “Stay,” which had already topped Norwegian and European charts before the album’s release. It features a wide array of vocal collaborators including Conrad Sewell, John Legend, Labrinth, and Julia Michaels. Cloud Nine reached #1 in Denmark, Poland, and Switzerland and topped Billboard’s Dance/Electronic Albums chart, and is widely credited with popularizing the tropical house sound of the mid-2010s. This 2LP pressing comes on white vinyl in a gatefold jacket with a download card.
