Destroyer is KISS's 1976 fourth album, a more ambitious, orchestrated record produced by Bob Ezrin, whose polished, layered production pushed the band beyond the raw, straightforward hard rock of their earlier releases. “Beth,” a piano ballad sung by drummer Peter Criss with minimal input from the rest of the band, became KISS's biggest hit despite bearing little resemblance to their theatrical, fire-breathing stage persona.
