Stripped down to mostly just Mitchell’s voice, piano, guitar, and Appalachian dulcimer, the album’s confessional songwriting on tracks like “River,” “A Case of You,” and “Little Green” redefined the boundaries of singer-songwriter intimacy and has been named the greatest album ever made by a woman by multiple critics’ polls, including NPR. This edition is Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab’s numbered, limited UltraDisc One-Step 2LP box set, cut at 45 RPM on SuperVinyl directly from the master tape for maximum fidelity, released January 19, 2024.
