Paradise Valley is John Mayer’s sixth studio album, released August 20, 2013 on Columbia Records, named for the Montana valley where he had settled after leaving Los Angeles. Co-produced by Mayer and Don Was and recorded across studios in New York, Los Angeles, and Santa Monica, the record leans into laid-back country-rock and blues textures, featuring a Katy Perry duet on “Who You Love” and a Frank Ocean feature on “Wildfire.” “Paper Doll,” “Wildfire,” and “Who You Love” were released as singles. The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and topped the charts in Australia, Canada, and the Netherlands, continuing Mayer’s run of commercially successful, roots-leaning records following 2012’s Born and Raised.
