Gorillaz | Gorillaz | Vinyl

Gorillaz is the band's self-titled 2001 debut, introducing Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett's virtual band concept, animated characters 2D, Murdoc, Noodle, and Russel fronting music from real-world collaborators. Single “Clint Eastwood,” featuring a verse from Del the Funky Homosapien, became a global hit and set the template for the group's blend of hip-hop, dub, and alternative rock. The project's success proved that a fictional band could sell records and headline festivals just like a real one.
