London Calling is the Clash's 1979 third album, a genre-spanning double record that moved the band far beyond straightforward punk into reggae, ska, jazz, and rockabilly territory. Recorded with producer Guy Stevens, the title track and “Train in Vain” (a late addition left off the initial sleeve credits) both became enduring hits. It's routinely ranked among the greatest albums of all time, celebrated for proving punk bands could expand their sound without losing their edge.
