Recorded in a single day in Toulouse, France under producer Didier Tricard, Stone Crazy! caught Buddy Guy and his touring band — including brother Phil Guy on rhythm guitar — tearing through six extended, largely improvised blues workouts. Alligator Records issued the sessions in the US in 1981 after their initial French release under a different title, marking Guy’s first major studio outing of the decade.
