Live at the Regal captures B.B. King and his band tearing through a November 1964 performance at Chicago’s Regal Theater, released by ABC in 1965. Backed by pianist Duke Jethro, bassist Leo Lauchie, drummer Sonny Freeman, and a two-man horn section, King delivers career-defining renditions of “Sweet Little Angel,” “How Blue Can You Get,” and “Worry, Worry” in front of an audience audibly hanging on every note and guitar phrase. Widely considered the greatest live blues album ever recorded, it was inducted into the National Recording Registry in 2005 and ranked No. 141 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
