Pink Flag is Wire's 1977 debut album, a stripped-down, art-punk record built on unusually short, sharp songs, several under a minute long, that rejected punk's typical bar-chord bluster for something colder and more conceptual. Tracks like “Three Girl Rhumba” and “12XU” were later covered by Elastica and Minor Threat respectively, testament to the record's outsized influence on post-punk and hardcore alike. This remastered pressing highlights the band's minimalist approach, still cited today as a blueprint for stripped-back guitar music.
