Temple of the Dog is the self-titled 1991 album from the Seattle supergroup formed by Chris Cornell to honor his late roommate Andrew Wood of Mother Love Bone, featuring musicians who would go on to form Pearl Jam alongside Soundgarden members. “Hunger Strike,” a duet between Cornell and a then-unknown Eddie Vedder, became the album's breakout song and an early hint of Vedder's future stardom. Though originally a modest seller, the record's connections to two of grunge's biggest bands turned it into a retroactive classic.
