Siamese Dream is the Smashing Pumpkins' 1993 second album, a dense, meticulously layered alternative rock record made under considerable interpersonal strain within the band and Billy Corgan's own struggles with depression during recording. Corgan reportedly played most of the guitar and bass parts himself, obsessively overdubbing tracks like “Cherub Rock” and “Today” to achieve the album's massive, wall-of-sound production. It's widely regarded as one of the definitive albums of 1990s alternative rock, a commercial and critical high point for the band.
