Ramones is the band's self-titled 1976 debut, widely credited with launching punk rock as a genre through its stripped-down, three-chord songwriting and rejection of rock excess. Recorded for a famously low budget, the album packs fourteen songs into under thirty minutes, with “Blitzkrieg Bop” and “Judy Is a Punk” becoming genre-defining anthems almost instantly. This remastered pressing restores the album's fast, buzzsaw guitar attack for a record that reshaped rock music's trajectory.
