Pork Soda is Primus's 1993 fourth album, a weird, funk-and-metal-inflected record built around Les Claypool's inventive, percussive bass playing and surreal, often darkly comic lyricism. “My Name Is Mud” became an unexpected radio hit and MTV staple despite the album's otherwise defiantly uncommercial approach. It's widely regarded as a defining entry in the band's idiosyncratic catalog, a high point of the alternative-adjacent oddball rock of the early '90s.
