ATLiens is OutKast's 1996 second album, a darker, more introspective turn built on live instrumentation, harmonica, and futuristic, sci-fi-inflected themes that set it apart from the duo's funkier debut. Singles “Elevators (Me & You)” and the title track showed André 3000 and Big Boi maturing rapidly as both lyricists and producers. It's widely credited with expanding the sonic and lyrical ambitions of Southern hip-hop, paving the way for the group's later commercial breakthroughs.
