Tragic Kingdom is No Doubt's 1995 third album, the ska-pop breakthrough that turned Gwen Stefani into a star after years of the band struggling for recognition in the Southern California ska scene. “Don't Speak,” written about Stefani's breakup with bandmate Tony Kanal, became an inescapable radio hit, while “Just a Girl” turned into an anthem in its own right. The album spent over two years on the Billboard 200 and eventually reached #1, a remarkably slow-building success story.
