How to Be a Human Being is Glass Animals' 2016 second album, a character-driven record where each song is written from the perspective of a different fictional persona, an ambitious conceptual structure inspired by real people frontman Dave Bayley met on tour. “Life Itself” and “Youth” further expanded the band's tropical, hip-hop-influenced sound established on their debut ZABA, adding sharper pop hooks without losing the atmosphere. The record helped set the stage for the band's later mainstream breakthrough with Dreamland's “Heat Waves.”
