Repeater is Fugazi's 1990 debut studio album, a foundational post-hardcore record built on the band's rigid DIY ethics, including a self-imposed low ticket price policy for shows. Ian MacKaye and Guy Picciotto's interlocking guitar work and socially conscious lyrics on tracks like “Merchandise” and the title track set a template that influenced countless independent bands. It's widely credited with shaping the independent punk and post-hardcore scene of the 1990s, released entirely outside the major-label system.
