Mama's Gun is Erykah Badu's 2000 second album, a more expansive, live-band-driven follow-up to Baduizm recorded largely with the Soulquarians collective at Electric Lady Studios in New York. “Bag Lady” became her biggest solo hit, its metaphor of emotional baggage resonating widely, while “Didn't Cha Know” showcased the album's warmer, more organic production. It's widely regarded as a genre-defining record of the neo-soul movement, standing alongside D'Angelo's Voodoo as a landmark of that era's Electric Lady sessions.
