Morrison Hotel is the Doors' 1970 fifth album, a return to raw, blues-based rock after the more orchestral experimentation of The Soft Parade, aided by session bassist input for the first time in the band's catalog. Jim Morrison's vocals and lyrics on “Roadhouse Blues” and “Peace Frog” showed a band recommitting to a leaner, harder-edged sound after some critical stumbles. It's widely regarded as one of the band's strongest and most consistent studio albums, a return to form before Morrison's death the following year.
