Yellow Submarine is the Beatles' 1969 soundtrack to their animated film of the same name, combining a handful of new songs with an entire side of orchestral score composed by George Martin. Only four songs on the album were newly written for the film, including George Harrison's “It's All Too Much,” making it a shorter and more experimental entry compared to the band's other studio albums. The psychedelic animated film itself became a cult classic, and the soundtrack remains a curious, often overlooked corner of the Beatles' catalog.
