Pet Sounds is the Beach Boys' 1966 masterpiece, presented here in its original mono mix, the format Brian Wilson personally preferred and mixed the album for given his hearing loss in one ear. Tracks like “Wouldn't It Be Nice” and “God Only Knows” reveal a different, more focused balance in mono than the later stereo remixes, closer to how listeners first experienced the album in 1966. It's routinely ranked among the greatest albums ever recorded and directly inspired the Beatles' own Sgt. Pepper's.
